On the menu: an itinerary covering the main sites of Old Quebec’s Lower and Upper Towns, with stops at four renowned restaurants.

Meeting point

Our guide will be waiting for you at our office located at 112 Saint-Paul Street to begin your guided tour.

Our office is located in the heart of the Old Port district in the Lower Town of Old Quebec. It is near the cruise ship docks and less than 20 min walk from any hotel in Old Quebec.

Lower Town

Discover Old Quebec’s Lower Town, including Place Royale and the Quartier Petit Champlain.

First restaurant : Va Bene

Located in the heart of the Petit-Champlain neighbourhood, this cozy Italian restaurant serves ingredients imported directly from Italy. Here, you can enjoy a light, traditional Italian appetizer paired with wine.

Second restaurant : Archibald Microbrewery

Located in a century-old stone house, Archibald is a favorite spot among craft beer enthusiasts in Quebec. Here, you can enjoy a light and refreshing beer with citrus notes, paired with a comforting onion soup.

Funicular

Take the Funicular to the Upper Town Old Quebec to avoid walking up the steep hill named Côte de la Montagne.

If the funicular is closed for maintenance, you will be offered to take a taxi with your group to avoid walking uphill or walking up the hill at a moderate pace and receive a funicular ticket to use later.

Upper Town

Admire the main must-sees around the Château Frontenac area.

Third restaurant : Le Continental

A true institution since 1956, Le Continental offers a truly delightful experience in the world of classic fine dining. Paired with wine, you’ll enjoy shrimp flambéed right at your table, a tribute to delicious French cuisine.

Forth and last restaurant : Le Clan ***One Michelin Star***

A high-end restaurant offering a unique gastronomic experience where renowned chef Stéphane Modat combines classic French techniques with local ingredients. It is a must-visit destination for an exquisite culinary experience in the heart of Old Quebec. The final course, paired with wine, and the dessert served here may vary depending on seasonal ingredients.

End Point

The tour ends around Quebec City Hall in the heart of Upper Town.

Generally you are less than 10 minutes walking distance from the main historical buildings passed by during the tour.

What to know before your tour

Have you shared with us your allergies/dietary preferences?We do our best to work with sensitivities and dietary preferences related specifically to gluten (not ideal for celiacs), seafood, nuts, vegetarian (not ideal for vegans) and non-alcoholic beverages. Any sensitivities or preferences must be disclosed no later than 24 hours before the tour. No alternatives are provided once the tour has started.

IMPORTANT : Note that the restaurants can not guarantee without trace and it is your responsibility to bring your medication in case of an allergic reaction. 

By arriving early, you can use our restroom, enjoy the cold water dispenser at the office and put on sunscreen offered for free.

During winter times, we can also lend you our comfortable winter accessories to stay warm or you can rent them.

For the best experience, make sure you dress with weather-appropriate clothing (layers are recommended since Quebec City’s weather changes constantly) and wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat and sunglasses.

In Quebec City, gratuity is a standard practice. Depending on your appreciation and the type of service, it is an amount of 10% to 20% that is recommended. It is however not mandatory, but very appreciated.

If you wish to leave a gratuity to your tour guide, plan bringing cash or have the guide give you his or her online gratuity link to safely give it by credit card. You should receive an automated email including the link after the tour however please feel free to send a message at [email protected] requesting it.

When you begin your tour at our office at 112 Saint-Paul Street, we offer complimentary loans of winter boots and accessories to ensure a more enjoyable experience in cold weather. You will also have the option to rent the equipment for your stay if needed.
