You’ll discover the history and culture of Quebec City as you explore Old Quebec on foot, at your own pace.

Meeting point

Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel or at a meeting point of your choice in Old Quebec.

Here are some ideas:

  • Ideal for cruise passengers | Museum of Civilization or our office at 112 rue Saint-Paul (a few minutes walk from the main terminals)
  • Ideal for people staying in Old Quebec | The lobby or the main door of your hotel/airbnb
  • Ideal for people staying outside of Old Quebec | The Tourny Fountain (Upper Town), the Maison Historique Chevalier (Lower Town, near the ferry) or our office at 112 rue Saint-Paul (Lower Town in the Old Port).

Funicular

Take the Funicular either to go down or go up during your tour. You can also choose to use your ticket later after the tour. Your guide will give you a ticket each to use later if you decide to not use it during the tour.

If the funicular is closed for maintenance, you will be offered to take a taxi with your group to avoid walking up the hill or walk up the hill at a moderate pace and receive a funicular ticket to use later.

End Point

The tour ends where you want it to end. You can choose to end in an area where you want to eat or shop or your hotel for example.

What to know before your tour

Depending on the meeting point you have chosen, make sure to be on time.

If you choose a hotel meeting point, your guide will generally meet in your lobby.

  • Small bag to carry personal items
  • Rain gear if needed

For the best experience, make sure you dress with weather-appropriate clothing (layers are recommended since Quebec City’s weather changes constantly) and wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat and sunglasses.

In Quebec City, gratuity is a standard practice. Depending on your appreciation and the type of service, it is an amount of 10% to 20% that is recommended. It is however not mandatory, but very appreciated.

If you wish to leave a gratuity to your tour guide, plan bringing cash or have the guide give you his or her online gratuity link to safely give it by credit card. You should receive an automated email including the link after the tour however please feel free to send a message at [email protected] requesting it.
